The Great North Run - Confirmed Going Ahead

60,000 determined and dedicated runners make the Great North Run the World’s biggest and best half marathon – famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions raised for good causes. 10:15 ELITE Wheelchair start 10:20 ELITE Women start 10:22 Visually Impaired Start 10:33 Mass Warm up 10:45 ELITE Men & MASSES Start 11:00 - Red Arrow Flypast the Tyne Bridge. 13:45 - Full Red Arrow display at the finish in Shields. TRAVEL - Nexus, Stagecoach, Arriva and Go North East have teamed up together to offer a simple multi-use travel ticket for £6, which will be valid on Metro, any bus service, and the Shields Ferry for the day of the Great North Run. This multi-use ticket includes travel across the entire North East network on the day of the run, including Tyne and Wear, Durham and Northumberland. This all-day travel ticket will be available to purchase from Metro station ticket machines, as well as on the day of the event.
