North East Skinny Dip
Sunday 29 September, 07:00
Last year a record 1,300 skinny dippers took to the North Sea at dawn and raised almost £40,000 for local mental health services!
Come and join in with this unique charity event - a celebration of life, nature, and of our physical bodies. You can go in up to your ankles or immerse your whole being. You have the freedom to choose. You can wear your shoes, or a hat, or even a mask, BUT please be mindful this is NOT a clothed dip! Yes, people will see you naked. Yes, there is a chance your bare bottom will make it onto the news. No, you will probably not die.....etc. etc. etc.
A pledge of £15 is suggested and the aim is to raise as much as possible for their chosen charity: Tyneside and Northumberland Mind. You can pledge more and also raise money through your own sponsorship. A 'Camp and Dip' ticket is also available for the Saturday night, allowing you to be up and ready for action at sunrise on Sunday. There will also be an open campfire and a stone circle singalong so people can take along instruments too.
It all takes place on Druridge Bay in Northumberland on Sunday 29th Sept. Sunrise is due to be just after 7am. There is a link to lots of FAQs along with all the finer details, and the link to make your pledge, on the Frisk List.
All details correct at time of press. For up-to-date information, contact the organiser or venue direct.
