New Year's Eve Firework Display

Celebrate the arrival of 2025 in style with two show stopping firework displays lighting up the Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside this New Year’s Eve.

At 6pm there will be a family-friendly display for an early New Year celebration. There will then be a spectacular display at midnight to welcome in the New Year in style. Each display will last about 15mins, but arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, with live entertainment an hour before each display, including walkabout performers and local traders.

There will be designated viewing areas along the Newcastle Quayside (under the Tyne Bridge to the Cycle Hub) and Baltic Square on Gateshead Quayside. Fireworks will also be visible from various other spots across Newcastle and Gateshead.

Getting Here: Public transport is the easiest way to reach the Quayside. Metro: The closest Metro stations are Central Station and Gateshead Interchange, both just a 10-15 minute walk from the Quayside. Bus: Popular routes serving the Quayside include the Q3 service and buses stopping near Central Station. For detailed journey planning, visit the Nexus website or the Go North East route planner. Driving: Road closures will be in place from 4:00 PM - be sure to arrive early to allow time to find suitable parking! Road Closures: When: From 4:00 PM on Tuesday, 31 December 2024. Where: Newcastle Quayside and surrounding streets will be closed to vehicles to create a safe and pedestrian-friendly environment.
