Durham Miners Gala 8am- 4pm
Saturday 09 July, 08:00
Back after 2 years! BIGGER AND BETTER! Dedicated to all our key workers. The streets of Durham will be packed on Saturday July 9th as people march colliery banners to sound of brass band music. Carers and bus drivers, delivery workers and nurses, shop staff and teachers, everyone who has risked their lives to keep society functioning throughout the pandemic will be celebrated. Hosted by the Durham Miners’ Association since 1871, the Gala is the world’s greatest celebration of community, solidarity and trades unionism.
